Updating Your Airtable Base to Work with the FRITES/JP Marketplaces

By now, many people will have access to the new FRITES (France, Italy, Spain) and JP (Japan) marketplaces that started rolling out to content creators recently.

As a Merch Wizard user, you may have noticed that products listed in these new marketplaces aren’t pushing (syncing) properly to your base. We have updated Merch Wizard to work with these additions, but there are some new “Marketplace” & “UploadedTo” field options which need adding to your Airtable base. We’d add these for you, but the API limitations don’t allow us to add options to your base multi-select field types.

Don’t worry though, it’s an easy fix to update that should take just a few minutes. The starter base has already been updated for our newer subscribers. So if you started with a fresh Merch Wizard starter base October 5th or later, you can skip this. If you started with a fresh Merch Wizard base between August 28th and October 4th, you will simply need to skip to part 3, to add the new currency for the Japan marketplace.

1) Listings Table, Marketplace Field

  • First, scroll to the bottom of your listings table, right click on the last record, and click “insert record below”. We’ll need this record to enter in the new options, but don’t worry, you can delete it later.
  • Select the first marketplace option by triple-clicking it (or clicking and dragging to select text):

RF

  • Then copy it to the clipboard by hitting Ctrl + C (PC), Command + C (Mac) or Right-Clicking and selecting Copy
  • In your base, in the Listings table, find the “Marketplace” field and click to select it as shown in the new record that you created in the last step.
  • Then hit either Ctrl + V (PC), Command + V (Mac) or Right-Click Paste
  • Next, highlight the field and delete the option you just pasted.
  • Select the next marketplace option by triple-clicking it (or clicking and dragging to select text):

IT

  • Repeat the steps above to copy and paste the second marketplace into the same “Marketplace” field where you had pasted the previous.
  • Next, highlight the field and again delete the option you just pasted.
  • Select the next marketplace option by triple-clicking it (or clicking and dragging to select text):

ES

  • Repeat the steps above to copy and paste the third marketplace into the same “Marketplace” field where you had pasted the previous.
  • Next, highlight the field and again delete the option you just pasted.
  • And finally, select the last new marketplace option by triple-clicking it (or clicking and dragging to select text):

JP

  • Repeat the steps above to copy and paste the second marketplace into the same “Marketplace” field where you had pasted the previous.

2) Listings Table, UploadedTo Field

  • Next, select the following list of options for the UploadedTo field by triple-clicking it (or clicking and dragging to select all the text): MerchByAmazonFR, MerchByAmazonIT, MerchByAmazonES, MerchByAmazonJP
  • In your base, in the Listings table, find the “UploadedTo” field and click to select it as shown. Go to the new record you created when adding the previous “Marketplaces” option.
  • Then hit either Ctrl + V (PC), Command + V (Mac) or Right-Click Paste

The new marketplaces are now added to your Listings table options.

3) Listings Table, Currency Field

  • Select the following option for the Currency field by triple-clicking it (or clicking and dragging to select all the text):

    YEN

  • In your base, in the Listings table, find the “Currency” field and click to select it as shown. Go to the new record you created when adding the previous “Marketplaces” option.
  • Then hit either Ctrl + V (PC), Command + V (Mac) or Right-Click Paste
